Posters will be selected based on quality
and relevance, subject to available space.
| What
should a proposal look like? |
All proposals should include two files:
1. A plain text file including the following
items:
- The title
Select an expressive and attractive title for the poster.
- The name of the presenter(s)
Give the full name and the affiliation of the presenter. Please
specify the electronic mail address as well. If there are multiple
presenters, give this information for all of them and specify
who the contact person is.
- The abstract
Write a brief description (up to 500) of the presented material.
- References
Please give information for further reading (an optional URL).
This information will be included in the ECOOP
2002 pages after the notification of acceptance. As in previous
years there are plans for the edition of a post conference reader
that will include a chapter dedicated to posters.
2. A PDF file including a preliminary design
of the poster to be exposed
Posters will be evaluated both on their technical
contributions and on how effectively they communicate those contributions.
All posters should include the following items:
- The body of the poster
The purpose and goals of the work. Any background and motivation
information needed to understand the work. Please also describe
any critical hypotheses and assumptions that underlie the work,
if appropriate. A summary of the technical contribution and/or
results, in sufficient detail for a viewer to understand the work.
The relationship to other related efforts, where appropriate.
Where to find additional information. Be sure to summarise and
highlight the key details, results and contributions, or the anticipated
contributions if the work is at an early stage. Please remember
that a picture is worth a thousand words. If you can express your
contributions effectively visually, it will help viewers to understand
the work quickly and will attract more attention to your work.
Please ensure that the fonts are large enough to be read comfortably.
- The time table
Posters should also include an informal schedule listing times
when the authors plan to be available for discussion later on
during the conference.
- The message board
All posters should include a space to be used as a "message
board," on which viewers can post comments, ideas, and questions
and on which poster authors can post responses, to further increase
interactions and value for everyone.
The board holding your poster has the size of 150 cm (H) * 95cm
(W). However, this size could be changed. In this case, authors
of accepted posters would be notified about the final size.
NEW!!!!.
The final size of the board holding your poster is 96 cm (H) * 190cm
(W). This is only important for the submission of the final version
of accepted posters. Please, do not care if you have already prepared
or submitted your poster proposal with the old size.
For additional questions or clarification, or
for your suggestions, please feel free to contact the Poster
Chair.
All proposals (including the plain text and the
pdf file) should be sent by mail to the Poster
Chair.
