| Technical programme - Workshops |
available also as a PDF document
The workshops of ECOOP, Europe's foremost conference
on object technology, are an excellent opportunity to bring together academics
and researchers working on similar scientific areas in an atmosphere that
fosters interaction, exchange, and problem solving. Workshops also provide
the opportunity for representatives of a technical community to coordinate
efforts and establish collective plans of action.
The ECOOP 2002 workshop committee selected 20 out of 25 high quality proposals
for workshops which, as usual, are scheduled for the first two days of
the conference. Your participation will contribute to making these two
days a success. Enjoy them!

Keeping up with the ECOOP tradition, we will again
publish an ECOOP Workshop Reader. The ECOOP 2002 edition (expected
to appear about half a year after the conference) will be published by
Springer-Verlag as an LNCS
volume. Each chapter of this book will be a report dedicated to one workshop,
providing the current research being carried out in the workshop topics,
the major issues discussed at the workshop, the conclusions of the focus
groups (if applicable) and the open research directions on the workshop
themes. This year, the ECOOP 2002 Workshop Reader will also include reports
dedicated to panels and posters. We are pretty sure that the ECOOP 2002
Workshop Reader will provide an excellent snapshot of the trends in the
object-oriented community.
You can pre-order a copy of the ECOOP 2002 Workshop
reader on the registration form for
only 48 €. This entails a discount of about 40%-50% over the estimated
final price. The reader will then be shipped to the address on your registration
form about half a year after the conference.
You need to be a registered participant for ECOOP'2002
in order to attend a workshop. The ECOOP registration process allows you
to register for the conference (which includes workshop registration)
or for the workshops only. The early registration date is May 6, 2002.
Further details on conference registration are available here.
Note that the ECOOP workshops are usually open
only to persons who are invited or who have submitted a position paper.
It is the responsability of the registrant to check whether he or she
is in the appropriate situation.

suggestions, please feel free to contact the ECOOP 2002 Workshop Chairs:
